Do mean better photo quality? Or it's just hype? Megapixel war isn't over yet, and doesn't seem to end for atleast coming few years. Leica SL Typ 601 sensors doesn’t solely matter, megapixels also does. To simply put it, more the Leica SL Typ 601 megapixels, higher the resolution of your image will be. If you have two cameras with the same pixel count, but one has a physically larger sensor than the other, then the one with the larger sensor will usually produce better quality images. Leica SL Typ 601 will give you an image of 24.00 MP megapixels. There are two factors into it: Effective pixels and Actual/Total pixels. Now what do they mean? Effective pixels actually capture the image data and total (actual) pixels are used to determine the edges of an image and to give color information. Megapixel means one million pixels. Resolution of an image is the number of pixels per inch. More the pixels, more the detailed image will be captured. Native resolution is the maximum resolution of an image from which you'll understand how many MP your camera really has. And it is 6000 × 4000 for Leica SL Typ 601. This resolution is different for Leica SL Typ 601 Image and for Leica SL Typ 601 Video. Another important feature is the aspect ratio. It refers to the ratio of image’s width to height and matters when it comes to framing of your picture for better image. Aspect ratio for Leica SL Typ 601 is 3:2.
